Bonjour ma gang de p’tits diables !
Aujourd’hui, je vais vous parler d’un album qui m’a laissé... perplexe : From Zero de Linkin Park.
Avant même de plonger dans la critique, laissez-moi vous décrire ce que j’en ai pensé en une image :
Voilà. Ce n’est ni un mauvais, ni un excellent album.
Contrairement à plusieurs critiques qui ont traité le groupe de woke, moi je trouve que le choix d’avoir une femme comme leader est une idée brillante. Malgré les polémiques qui entourent la chanteuse, ce choix s’inscrit parfaitement dans la lignée du groupe. Chester a toujours prôné que chaque être humain à un passer et qu’on mérite tous une seconde chance, et avec le titre From Zero, je trouve ça tout simplement génial qu’ils aient décidé de passer le flambeau à une femme plutôt qu’à un homme.
Musicalement, l’album est bon. Il respecte bien l’esprit original du groupe, tout en essayant d’apporter une touche de nouveauté. Mais… c’est là que le bât blesse.
L’album reste trop timide côté innovation. Et j’ai eu l’impression que la nouvelle chanteuse était un peu étouffée par l’ancienne vibe du groupe.
J’espère sincèrement qu’ils ne suivront pas le même chemin que Suicide Silence, parce que, comme le dit la légende d’Icare : à trop vouloir briller, on finit par tomber...

Today, I want to talk about an album that left me… puzzled: From Zero by Linkin Park.
Before diving into the review, let me describe what I thought of it with a single image:
It’s neither a bad album, but neither a excellent one to.
Unlike many critics who called the band “woke”, I actually think choosing a woman as the new lead singer is a brilliant idea. Despite the controversies surrounding her, that decision fits perfectly with the band’s legacy. Chester always believed that every human being has a past and that everyone deserves a second chance. With a title like From Zero, I find it amazing that they chose to pass the torch to a woman rather than a man.
Musically, the album is solid. It stays true to the band’s original spirit while trying to add something new. But… that’s where things fall a bit short.
The album plays it too safe in terms of innovation, and I couldn’t help but feel that the new singer was a bit constrained by the group’s old vibe.
I sincerely hope they don’t follow the same path as Suicide Silence, because, as the legend of Icarus reminds us — when you try too hard to shine, you eventually fall…
