J’espère que tout le monde va bien, que tout le monde est en forme et surtout… que tout le monde est en feu !
Aujourd’hui, mes p’tits diables, on va parler de TikTok. Et là, vous allez me dire: « Mais c’est quoi le rapport avec ta critique musicale ? »
Eh bien, j’y arrive, ne vous en faites pas !
MattStagraham – Le phénomène TikTok.
Le groupe MattStagraham s’est fait connaître cette année grâce à leur chanson Caféine, devenue virale sur TikTok et YouTube Shorts.
Honnêtement, je ne m’étais pas trop attardé à eux.
Je me suis dit: « Encore un band qui va faire du bruit sur les réseaux, puis disparaître. »
Eh bien… je me suis lourdement trompé.
Un album solide et surprenant.
leur 3e album Sorti le 6 juin 2025, l’album propose 11 chansons pour environ 28 minutes d’écoute.
Et laissez-moi vous dire… c’est une masterclass!
Une énorme surprise du début à la fin.
Ne vous fiez pas à la pochette — chaleureuse et invitante (même s’il y a une tête de mort dessus).
Sous ses airs doux, Yellow Paint cache un son brut, granuleux et rempli d’énergie et d’émotion, digne d’un garage band à l’ancienne.
Un mélange explosif de styles.
Pour un grand fan de punk et de metal comme moi, cet album a été un vrai bonheur auditif.
On y retrouve des influences évidentes de Simple Plan, Green Day, Blink-182, Sum 41 et Good Charlotte. En bref, tout ce que les amateurs de pop-punk adorent.
Mais le groupe conserve aussi une forte racine old school, inspirée du punk des années 70-80.
Le résultat ? Un son à la fois nostalgique et moderne, capable de plaire autant aux fans du vieux punk qu’à ceux du new punk.
Certaines chansons donnent carrément envie de partir un mosh pit dans le salon, tandis que d’autres flirtent avec le metalcore.
Ce mélange bien dosé rend Yellow Paint unique et surprenant à chaque écoute.
Une claque émotionnelle pour finir.
Et là… le plot twist...
La chanson #11 : Good Enough.
Une fin calme, émotive et intense, qui aborde des thèmes beaucoup plus profonds : la dépression, la solitude et le sentiment d’être incompris.
Ce que j’ai adoré dans cet album, c’est sa capacité à nous replonger dans notre adolescence intérieure, dans nos doutes et nos blessures —
le tout sans tomber dans le trop “woke” ou moralisateur.
C’est authentique, sincère, et surtout touchant.
Et si jamais vous traversez une période difficile, n’oubliez pas qu’il y a toujours de l’aide disponible. Vous n’êtes pas seul!
Mon verdict final:
Au début, j’étais parti pour leur donner un 7 ou 8 sur 10…
Mais après cette dernière chanson ? Impossible!
C’est un 10/10 bien mérité !
MattStagraham prouve qu’un groupe né sur TikTok peut avoir une âme, du talent et une vraie profondeur.
Yellow Paint est plus qu’un simple album :
c’est une expérience punk-rock émotionnelle qui nous rappelle que, même quand tout semble aller bien, on a tous quelque chose à exprimer.
Et cet album, lui, nous aide à le faire.
L’énergie du groupe doit durer dans le temps pour qu’ils nous pondent d’autres masterclass comme Yellow Paint.

The band MattStagraham blew up this year thanks to their viral hit Caffeine on TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
Honestly, I didn’t pay much attention at first.
I thought, “Here we go again — another band that’ll make some noise online and disappear.”
Well… I was dead wrong.
A Solid and Surprising Album.
Released on June 6th, 2025, Yellow Paint delivers 11 tracks packed into about 28 minutes of pure sound.
And let me tell you — it’s a masterclass.
A massive surprise from start to finish.
Don’t be fooled by the album cover — warm and inviting
(even with a skull on it). Behind that look hides a raw, gritty, garage-band energy full of emotion and intensity.
An Explosive Mix of Styles.
As a huge fan of punk and metal myself, this album was an absolute joy to listen to.
You can clearly hear influences from Simple Plan, Green Day, Blink-182, Sum 41, and Good Charlotte — all the pop-punk legends we love.
But the band also keeps strong old-school punk roots from the 70s and 80s.
The result? A sound that’s both nostalgic and fresh, appealing to fans of classic punk and new punk alike.
Some tracks make you want to start a living room mosh pit, while others flirt with metalcore.
This balance makes Yellow Paint a unique and exciting listen every single time.
The Emotional Punch at the End.
And then… the plot twist.
Track #11: Good Enough.
A calm, emotional, and powerful ending that tackles deeper themes — depression, loneliness, and feeling misunderstood.

At first, I was ready to give this album a 7 or 8 out of 10…
But after that final track? No way!
It’s a solid 10/10!
MattStagraham proves that a band born on TikTok can have soul, talent, and real depth.
Yellow Paint is more than just an album —
it’s an emotional punk-rock experience that reminds us that even when everything seems fine, we all have something inside that needs to be expressed.
And this album helps us do exactly that.
Let’s hope the band keeps that same fire burning and delivers more masterclasses like Yellow Paint.
